Congratulations for considering taking an important step toward open, honest conversations with your child about sexuality! By choosing The Talk Institute, you’re setting the stage for a meaningful and lasting bond while tackling one of the most important topics in parenting.

At The Talk Institute, we’re dedicated to helping parents and children navigate puberty and growing up—together. Through engaging, age-appropriate discussions, we break the ice, lay the foundation, and equip kids with the knowledge and skills they need to grow up sexually healthy and confident. Thank you for considering our programs.

Why consider "THE TALK" Program?

If you’ve ever felt unsure about how to start the talk with your child, you know the one about sex and growing up, you’re not alone. Many parents struggle with knowing what to say, when to say it, and how much information is too much. THE TALK is designed to take that pressure off and turn what might feel like an awkward conversation into a positive, engaging experience for both you and your child.

This is not a one-time, uncomfortable lecture. Instead, it’s an interactive, guided program that you and your child go through together, ensuring that they receive accurate, age-appropriate information about puberty, relationships, and growing up—all within a safe and supportive environment.

Unlike school health classes that can be generic and impersonal, this program is designed for families who want to be actively involved in their child’s understanding of sexuality. You’ll learn side by side, opening the door for more natural, ongoing conversations.

About Us

With over 20 years in teen pregnancy prevention, I’ve seen firsthand that parent-child connectedness is one of the strongest protective factors against early pregnancy. Yet, many parents struggle with how to start this conversation and schools often don’t fill the gap, leaving kids without the guidance they need.

That’s why I created The Talk Institute—to bridge that gap and ensure that parents are fully involved in their child’s education about growing up and relationships.

How THE TALK Works

  • Expert-led: The Talk Institute takes the guesswork out and makes sure we all get the right info.  Led by an expert with years of experience in sexual health education, this program gives you the tools, language, and confidence to have these important discussions with your child. We come to your small group and conduct courses throughout Southern California.

  • Shared experience: This is not just a sit-and-listen session. We incorporate discussions, fun activities, and practical exercises to keep kids engaged and make learning comfortable. Discussions can be tailored to your child’s readiness and your family’s values.

  • Family-focused: You get to be involved and expertly guided through what your kids hear and allowed opportunities to share our own family’s values in a safe, supportive environment. This ensures that you can discuss what you’re learning in real-time and continue the conversation at home.

  • Community: Imagine surrounding your family with like-minded parents and kids who are learning, sharing, and building confidence together. Kids see that other families talk about this subject too. Suddenly, The Talk doesn’t feel so awkward—it becomes just another part of your family culture and a fact of life. Because programs are conducted in a group setting of your choosing, often times you are creating a network of other families to support your child through puberty as well. Peers hear the same information, at the same time, creating powerful foundations of knowledge among your child's peer group.

  • Ongoing Support: Your registration includes 6-month access to an e-course so you can revisit key topics and reinforce learning long after the sessions are over. Families benefit from our courses for years to come! I hope you join us!

 Class Costs & Registration Details

Currently the cost for Talking the Talk is $350 per parent/child pair, when 10 or more pairs attend a series. A lesser fee of $175 is charged for an additional sibling
(must attend the same class). This fee scale is based on a full class of at least 10 pairs totaling a minimum of $3500 for a private live series. You may be asked to pay a different amount for a smaller group.

Additional add-on sessions are available for $75 per class per parent/child pair. Pricing is based on a 10-pair minimum per class.

If a class does not have 10 pairs, participants can opt to pay more to still have a class (ex. 9 pairs at $388.89 each or 8 pairs at $437.50 each). Note that the cost, however, does not reduce with more than 10 pairs participating. Generally, fees are collected before or immediately after the first parent session.

Venmo, Zelle, cash or check are preferred. Please do not mail in payments unless instructed to do so.

 Important Notes:

  • Refunds are not available for missed or unattended sessions.
  • Registration includes 6-month access to an e-course, and participants will receive an email from Kajabi with their login details.
