Listed below are the “Talking 'The Talk' Together” courses. Courses 1, 2, and 3 are designed for parents and kids (ages 10-16).
Depending on the ages of the kids, The Talk Institute generally recommends the below age-appropriate topics for class discussion. We can also work with you to customize courses and topics specific to your group’s needs and interests. In addition, we offer welcomed “refresher” courses for kids and/or parents, as well as courses that are designed to meet diverse and/or special needs.

Course 1: Youth ages 10-12, with parent(s) attend 5 weekly 2-hour classes. Boys & girls taught separately. Abbreviated courses available.
Course Fees: $125.00 per parent/child pair (Price based on a 10 pair minimum).

- Male & Female Anatomy
- Puberty & Hygiene
- Menstruation
- Erections and wet dreams
- What is “Sex”
- Pregnancy & Conception
- Basics of HIV/AIDS
- Resisting Peer Pressure
- Building Relationships

Course 2: Youth ages 12-14, with parent(s) attend 4 weekly 2-hour classes. Boys & girls are taught separately.

- Emotional Changes
- Body Image
- Combating Media Messages

Course 3: Youth ages 14-16, with parent(s) attend 4 weekly 2 ½ hour classes. Boys & girls can be taught separately or co-ed.
Course Fees: $125.00 per parent/child pair (Price based on a 10 pair minimum).

- Evaluating Values and Beliefs
- Reproductive Anatomy/Physiology
- Abstinence/Birth Control
- Sexually Transmitted Diseases
- HIV/AIDS
- Refusal/Negotiation Skills

- Resisting Peer Pressure
- Healthy vs. Unhealthy Relationships

Course Fees
Talking The Talk Together 1, 2, or 3:
$125.00 per parent/child pair (Price based on a 10 pair minimum).
Siblings attending the same class are an additional $55. Additional fees may apply if enrollment is under 10 parent/child pairs, or if an instructor must travel to a class outside of Orange, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, or San Diego counties.
Though fees for single sessions, specialized classes, and parenting courses may vary, below is a general guideline of fees.
One session: $40 per parent/child pair
Two sessions: $70 per parent/child pair
Three sessions: $100 per parent/child pair
Four sessions: $125 per parent/child pair
Five sessions: 5th session is FREE
